Hammer and Nails by New Wall

On a Saturday morning that threatened rain, a large group of people gathered at a Habitat for Humanity construction site in Hartford, with Theresa Sanford and her family. The occasion was the raising of the first wall of their new home. Thrivent Builds and Habitat for Humanity worked together to get the Sanford family home built from May to November 2008.

Theresa Sanford and Family

Theresa stood in front of the group and thanked everybody, starting with her, and our, Lord and Savior Jesus. It was a meaningful moment for everyone.

The Waill is Raised, by Matt, Kent, and Barbm with the family looking on.

Then a group of people gathered to lift up the wall. Matt Kellie, Barb Geiger, and Kent Tedford made sure it was secured, while Theresa Sanford, her husband, her son, and Lloyd Smith pose for the photo-op.

Marjorie Coons and Barbara Lewis

Faith's own Marjorie Coons and Barbara Lewis were on hand. Like this writer, they love work: they can stand around at watch it all day!

This was a real realm-of-God moment in the middle of the city. What a privilege it was to be present.
