Why are you here?
Not the place you are reading this; why are you here, on earth?
Why did God, if there is such a thing, place you here?
What’s the meaning of life; what’s your purpose in life?
What will happen to you when you die?
What’s it all about?
Are you tired, discouraged, worn out, running on empty,
wondering what the point of all this really is?
Do you want more out of life:
More joy, fulfillment, love?
Are you looking for answers?
For meaning and purpose?
Then we’ve got the greatest Good News to share with you!
Check us out.
We’re Faith Lutheran Church, a family of faith;
here to support and encourage one another in God’s love,
and to share the love of Jesus Christ with the world. |

Welcome in the name of Jesus! Faith Lutheran Church in East Hartford is a vibrant community of faith gathered by God and led by the Holy Spirit to proclaim Christ’s redeeming love to all. We gather each Sunday in worship to be fed for mission and ministry opportunities throughout the week.
Worship is the central window to faith for our community and follows ancient patterns in two distinct worship experiences. We experience windows to faith opening as…
-
The Holy Spirit gathers us together as the people of God;
-
God speaks to us through the Word in scripture reading, preaching, and song;
-
God feeds us with the presence of Jesus Christ in the Communion Meal;
-
And God blesses us and sends us out in mission to the world.
Our "Traditions" service follows a traditional liturgy from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship book, and includes a children’s message and preached sermon. Our "Windows to Faith" service follows a casual worship format featuring our cross-generational praise ensemble, and includes reflections on the intersection of God’s Word and our lives.
On behalf of the people of Faith, I invite you to call, e-mail, visit us in person or on-line, and worship with us. We try to welcome guests in a warm and non-intrusive way; in fact we've been expecting you!

Come to Faith and experience a church made up of warm and caring people.
Who are we? We are increasingly diverse: mostly Euro-American, with growing numbers of Asian, African-American and Latino members. We also come from all walks of life: young working families with kids (we love kids!), retirees, singles, teens…you name it.
What do we do? We pray together. We sing together. We work together to improve our church and our community. We find joy in our worship and in each others’ company. And we love to make new friends like YOU!
What do we believe? We believe that God created and loves all of creation -- the earth and the seas and all of the world’s inhabitants. We believe that God's Son, Jesus Christ, transforms lives through his death on the cross and his new life, and we trust that God's Spirit is active in the world.
How can you find out more? We’d love to see you at any of our services or events (see the upcoming events calendar). We’ll gladly show you around and answer your questions. Our building is accessible to wheelchair users.If you'd like more information before you visit--or would like us to pray for you--please don't hesitate to send us an

Worship Schedule
While our “Traditions” + “Windows” worship services each have a different look and feel, you may experience familiar patterns, prayers and music here at Faith regardless of where you have worshipped before. We invite you to worship with us and try to welcome guests in a warm and non-intrusive way; in fact we've been expecting you!
Traditions Worship Sunday at 9:30 am
Drawing on our ancient Christian heritage, this liturgy (or work of the people) follows the traditional Lutheran worship service of Word and Sacrament and speaks with appropriate relevance for today. Chorale and hand bell choirs, solo musicians, and a variety of hymns accompa...nied primarily on our pipe organ lead the assembly in song. We follow settings from the Evangelical Lutheran Worship (ELW) book, accompanied by scripture, children’s message, sermon, with the Eucharist shared each week.
Windows to Faith Sunday at 11:15 am
Drawing on our contemporary and complex post-modern world, this worship experience sheds God’s light and love on our faith journey. Our cross-generational Praise Ensemble leads us in singing about God’s love and promises. Together we confess our brokenness, listen to ...God’s story through the Bible, listen for our stories through reflections on God’s story, share Communion at God’s table, and we leave reflecting God’s love through the windows of our lives.
Holy Communion is shared at both services, and all are welcome.

Sunday School and Faith Formation
Sunday School meets every week from the Sunday after Labor Day in September to the Sunday before Fathers' Day in June from 10:15 to 11:00.
Faith's Sunday School program is for ages 3 to 12. Young people learn about the saving love of Jesus through storytelling, bible study, videos, games, music and crafts. We address, in age-appropriate ways, real questions like these:
Are the Ten Commandments still relevant? What does the Bible say about living in a world like today's?
We offer an affirmation of faith (confirmation) program for those in seventh through ninth grades. And a teen Bible Study beginning February 7 from 12:15 to 1:15 on Sunday.
There are also many opportunities for adults to participate in faith formation (Christian education) activities. Currently, there is an adult Bible study during the Sunday school hour from 10:15 to 11:00.
All are welcome, whether you're a long-time student of the Bible or a seeker wondering what the life of faith is all about. Contact the church office if you have any questions. |

Holy Communion at Faith
At Faith, we celebrate Holy Communion at all Sunday worship services.
We believe and teach that the Lord's Supper is Jesus's gift to all God's baptized people, and gives us spiritual strength to bring the Good News to our neighbors and the whole world. Whoever you are in your journey of faith, and wherever you are on that journey, you are welcome at our Holy Communion table. |
